Every summer, one of the most meaningful events we are part of happens right here at 918 Boats. Operation Wake Surf is returning July 21st through July 23rd at CrossTimbers Marina in Sperry, Oklahoma. For three days, our lake community comes together to create something special for the military members and first responders who serve our communities every day.
Because we are located right on the water at 918 Boats, the experience starts the way a true lake day should. Boats load at the dock, families gather around the marina, and crews head out across Skiatook Lake ready to spend time on the water together.
Throughout the event, heroes rotate through boats, spend time wakesurfing, ride along with experienced drivers, and enjoy the kind of lake day many of us look forward to all year.
A Weekend Built Around Our Heroes
Operation Wake Surf is about giving our heroes a chance to step away from the weight of their everyday responsibilities and simply enjoy Skiatook Lake.
We welcome veterans, active duty service members, police officers, firefighters, and EMTs to join us on the water with their families. Some will be wakesurfing for the first time, while others are just happy to relax on the boat, laugh with their kids, and enjoy time with people who appreciate what they do.
Our riders and drivers help guide each group out on Skiatook Lake so everyone feels comfortable behind the wave. Watching someone get up on a surf wave for the first time is always a moment worth celebrating.
Our Lake Community Makes It Possible
Operation Wake Surf would not happen without the people who step up to make it happen.
Boat owners volunteer their time and their boats. Riders share their experience to help new surfers. Local businesses and supporters contribute in countless ways to keep everything running smoothly.
At 918 Boats, located on Skiatook Lake, we help coordinate the boats and crews that make the weekend possible. With wake boats from brands we proudly represent like Supra, Moomba, and Centurion, participants get to experience the kind of surf waves that make Skiatook Lake such a great place to spend time on the water.
More than anything, this event is about a community showing up for the people who show up for others every single day.
Nominate a Hero for Operation Wake Surf
One of the most meaningful parts of Operation Wake Surf is that the community helps bring the heroes to the lake.
Friends, family members, coworkers, and neighbors can nominate military members or first responders who deserve a day to recharge on the water. Many of the heroes who attend would never ask for recognition themselves, which makes those nominations even more meaningful.
Sometimes the best way to say thank you is simply inviting someone to spend a great day on the lake surrounded by good people.
